Bit more worried than I was originally because I stumbled this afternoon, putting all my weight on my poorly foot. I think the plaster cast did it's job and stopped any real damage, but, the incision site has definitely been stinging a lot and throbbing. I hope I haven't re-opened the scar!

    hi Sue,

its unlikely its opened and it might well be feet just don't like being messed with... mine didn't and the scar was tender and odd feeling for quite sometime on both my feet.

hey the plaster will have to come off for the pins to come out. they left mine in for various reasons so please let me know how bad it is to have them out cus mine are a bit too big and kinda feel they need to be removed but i stopped pushing that one years ago.... will be in your pocket and fingers crossed they will find it well healed. Dear Sue

I am sure you have not reopened the scar. All the best today at your appointment. I kept the one pin I had in my toe as a souvenir. The nurse thought I was mad!

Hi Sue and Happy Birthday!! Hope everything goes well today and that you can have the cast off, the worry you feel about the scar area opening is normal. It's more likely than not that the skin is stretching as it heals. Hope you have a great day with positive outcomes for you. Let us all know how you get on. big ((HUGS)) Amanda/bubbadog.

Happy birthday from me too. I do hope the deed has been done by now and you are safely home and there is some cake waiting for you.

It is a very worrying time for you but fingers crossed the pins are out and no further damage has shown up.

BIG smiling from me. He pulled the pins out and I didn't feel a thing! Honest, I didn't even know he'd done the first one. The wound had opened a tad but nothing to worry about. I can weight bear as tolerated and have a proper bath on Monday! I return in 6 weeks at which time he'll do the pre-op for the subtalar fusion.
He forgot it was my birthday but made up for it with a big cuddle and a kiss. And YES, I do still love him very much.:lol:

More celebrations then, a bath on Monday.:grin: 8)

    Have a great weekend,

Thanks all. It's proving a tad painful to walk on, especially with the cracked rib too! I'm sure it'll get easier though.
