Should I be worried?

Hi all, hope your all well. Quick question I went this morning for my 2 weekly blood test because I have only been on methotrexate for 5 weeks, when I got there I was told that my Liver Function results have gone up and are high so I have been told not to take my meth this week and go for another blood test next week, now also looking at my bloods over the last few weeks my WBC is dropping and so is my platelets although at the moment they are both within the normal range just dropping steadily each week. Should I be worried about my liver function test being high? is this normal? (I know im a nurse but im not great with blood results and also I dont have experience of bloods relating to arthritis - just my patients!). I know what some of them mean in relation to other things but not sure what they mean for me im not even sure im making sense!! If any one has any advice/experience of this can you let me know what happens now and if I should be concerned.

Thanks

J

I would not worry too much (easy for me to say I know) but just do as they advise and stop the meth and go next week for the test and see what the results say then. I know the meds can make things go haywire so they have done the right thing stopping them and re testing to see what result says then.
I have had my bloods go haywire one test then had another done week later and have been fine again. Good luck and hope it all comes back good next test.

This has happened to me too. I was told just having a drink the night before can make them go up! Mine settled, ditto low WBC etc.

mine sometimes go funny on certain meds, have in the past. I've just had my first fortnightly blood test done after staying sulfa..
Think sometimes the Gilbert's Syndrome gives weird readings too.
Good luck anyway, hope they settle down for you.

Hi, if it is the meth causing the bllods to change, then stopping the meth means the levels will return to normal quickly.

The docs are on top of it and monitoring you, so try not to worry.
