Only 10 days in to my treatment - and already feeling better

As some of you may know, I have recently been diagnosed with Lupus. I am on a cocktail of drugs (Plaquenil, Lisinopril, Azathioprine, Naprosyn and some eye drops) and I am pleased to report that I am feeling better than I have done in 12 months or more I know that I have got a long way to go yet and I am still getting some pain in my joints and muscles, but as I am feeling both mentally and physically better, I feel more able to cope with them. I have got a kidney scan and lung function test scheduled in the next couple of weeks as the Lupus may have caused some damage in these areas and they are testing me as a precaution. God bless the NHS. At the moment I am seeing either my GP, physio or consultant on a weekly basis.
I can not tell you how good it feels to be able to look forwards to tomorrow instead of just thinking about getting through today. Another bonus is that, in the last year I have lost just over 2 stones in weight and have gone from a size 16 to 12/14. I know that it is the illness that has done this and it is not an ideal way to lose weight, but when, at 50 years of age, you can get in to your daughters skinny jeans it does wonders for your ego.
I have been warned about over doing things, flare ups, weight gain, side effects of the drugs etc, but I am embracing the good days and know that I have got a great support network around me to help me get through the difficult times.
Take care and big gentle hugs to you all

So pleased for you,
It is always lovely to hear when somebody is improving. You can get so down thinking it will always be such a painful struggle. So thanks for posting and giving hope to others,
