    Hi Joan,

At least you know now. I hope you can cope with swallowing the tablets, let them know if you can't as I'm sure your doc will be able to help.

Oh Joan, I don't think this was quite what you'd hoped for but at least now they know the problem they can treat it. I do hope you manage with the pills. I used to be able to swallow anything going but these days I have to concentrate on what I'm doing and get everything right.

How is the foot? Is it still giving way sometimes? I hope the pills will improve that, too, and that your appointment on 6th Dec is a good one.

Take care and good luck with the pills.

Oh no. Oh Joan, not the 'take on an empty stomach and sit up for half an hour pills'? I hate them with a vengeance, I reckon we have enough faff and kerfuffle to manage without any extra being added to the mix. I am so sorry but at least you now know that there is summat up and that it can be helped. I too wish you the very best with the tablets, they are not too large but MUST be taken only with water. Let's hope they help, yes? DD

If you do make sure you wash both halves down with gallons of water - well, not literally gallons but lots and lots!

(Shall I tell you a secret? I stopped taking them when I reached under 5mgs on my steroid reduction plan. Don't tell anyone. Shhhhh. 8) )

    Hello Joan
Now you know what you are up against, it is good that you have had the scan and now you can start the treatment, some people wait forever for the bone scan, I really do wish you well with it all, I wonder if they do a liquid type to make it easier for you.
    Love

    Hi Joan,
I have OP and well.....something rheumy, don't know yet.
Horrible tablets to take but you sound like you have a decent GP so although these don't come in liquid form there are others that do.
My GP wouldn't prescribe the alternative but my ortho did.
Apparently they are too expensive.....but my bones are worth it.
I hope you manage ok with them,if not Pm me as you take these others in water, they are a powder.
Best of luck to you and take care.

Oh Joan, that doesn't sound good. I've no experience with these pills but I know they seem to have few friends even if they do a good job. I hope you can take them with food but I think maybe not. I shall be thinking of you and hoping things settle down. A week sounds a long time if you are feeling so rough.

Hi I'm glad you have the results and they give you a diagnosis to work on, not what you'd like to have, I'm sure, but better than not finding anything and more tests!

My helpful suggestion was going to be 'use some yogurt or something creamy to help swollow, which comes from my care assisstant past, but if you must just have water, then thats off.
Some medications can come in a liquid form but, they don't like telling you this as it usually costs more. If you have any problems, ask the doctor, I'd ask the chemist or look it up first and then you've got some ammunition!!!
Anyway, good luck with the pills and who knows, you may not have a problem! Love Sue xxx
