Hi everyone,
Thanks for everyone's support last week. things have improved a bit since then - I've had my first counselling session and the Dr has (finally, after 7 years) referred me to a pain clinic.
I also decided to start my own blog. I know that lots of people find blogging useful, and as there is relatively little information about my kind of arthritis (palindromic rheumatism) around, I thought it would be therapeutic for me to write, and useful for others too.
There's not much on there yet, but I hope to be writing regularly and I'd be really happy if people would read, comment and subscribe.
Thanks.

hi Ruth,
good on you for doing this one and hope it heps you. i kinda wonder about starting a blog but then i remember i might say too personal stuff cus i often write my worries out if that makes sense?
let us know if it is therapeutic could you? i don't know as anyone would want to read mine..... it would be a bit off the wall at times its just now and then i think about it
really hope it does help you and it also helps you to find some answers. Cris x0 -
Hi Cris,
I shall certainly let you know if the blog is helpful. I have not put my name on it so i hope that means that I can be open without worrying about people knowing it's definitely me. I don't know who, if anyone, will read it regularly, but perhaps newly diagnosed people might come across it while searching for palindromic rheumatism, and it could help them? In some ways, it won't matter whether people read it or not, I think it's the writing it that's the main objective. and a blog, being public, means that I'll be more likely to write, than I would a diary.
Anyone else: my blog link as per terms and conditions, was removed but it's on my profile.0 -
I started a blog and I am finding it really helps me. The link is on my profile information if you want to take a look.
I will definitly read yours it is nice to hear stories from others which you can relate to x0 -
Hi Ruth,
I just had a look in on your blog page, very tidy! May I enquire if our details show up if we reply on your site, I have a public persona and a private one and do not wish to mix them! I know I should be freer about arther, but I'm not, and most people don't want to know, it turns them off.
Its a grin, honest!0 -
Hiya,
Thanks for the feedback. I TOTALLY understand you not wanting to mix your private and public persona - which is why I haven't put my full name to the blog itself. I am self-employed and I don't want to 'scare off' potential clients who might think I'm not up to doing a job because of my illness.
If you don't have a wordpress account, I think you can leave as much detail as you feel comfortable with and it will just show up the name you leave? But I don't honestly know. I have to approve all comments before they show up, so if you do post something and it looks like a full name will appear, I can always not approve it?0
