Hi,
For the last 2 days I have been in agony and even my pain dullers aren't doing any good.
I just ache from my shoulders to my feet.
Also a wierd thing today....I went for my 3 monthly blood test...usually straightforward CA125 so my oncologist has the result on Monday and the nurse took loads of blood....liver,kidney function, blood count...not sure what else as she never stopped talking.
The bloods the hospital took are not sent to my GP even though they referred me.
I don't have another rheumy appointment until February, when I am told I will get these results.
Surely this is not continuation of care.It doesn't make sense.
I'm just really fed up with the pain....which has never been as bad as this.
It's not raining and not even very cold.
Sorry for the moan.I am really fed up. May

Fraid it does that. Sometimes you can get a rapid deterioration and your usual meds don't touch it. I have had phases like that and had to struggle on waiting for 'the appointment'. However My rheummy told me off during one such episode and said I should have phoned and let her know.

i know i was bad cos even people in the hospital were grimacing and looking at me pitifully when I staggered past! If you feel like that then get on the phone and ask to be given any cancellation and tell them how bad you feel.

i think it could easily be stress, May. It does strange things to us. Even when we feel we're coping with it quite well. But, physically, you must also be doing more than usual. Arthritic joints don't like that.

I'm sorry, I can't remember what meds you're on but the kidneys/liver function, blood count etc are all part of my regular ones because I take methotrexate. As for your GP not getting the results - I have a feeling they can access them on the computer if they want to but they don't usually.

if things continue this badly I think maybe another rheumatology appointment might help. Or just a chat with the rheumatology nurse? Of course you are fed up. You have much to be fed up about.

    Oh DD, I know....but I don't really feel stressed.
In fact I am reasonably calm and on the sister front...things are getting into a good routine.
My chef is coping really well as usual.
I suppose things could be in my subconcious. If this is the case I wish they would get out.
Might be I am getting too used to the cocos, don't really want to take anything stronger.
Thanks for your support.Just want these pains to go away or ease at the very least.
Sticky....Haven't got a diagnosis yet....so thats 2 armfuls of blood in just over 3 weeks.Probably now my blood count will be low...

You may not feel it, May, but I'm sure it's there. Arthritis is a devious beast, it picks its moments. But we're here too - don't forget that. DD

    Dear May

Although you think you may not be stressed now, you most definitely were beside yourself a good few days ago. Stress most certainly aggravates symptoms. When you were extra upset with everything that was going on, one thing after another, your body gets tense and this in turn does not do joints and muscles much good. Worry is also another factor that does not help symptoms and I am sure you are worrying whether you are aware of it or not. Who would not be in your position? Speak with the rheumy nurse if you can.

I am so sorry you are feeling so unwell and hope things improve all round very soon.

    Love

    Hi May,
It could well be stress but still worth givivng rheummy nurse a ring, maybe they could bring appoint forward??

Can you do any form of relaxation, maybe meditation? This could help.

    All the best, take care.xx

    Hi All,
Well I have given up....now got a script for Tramadol.
I hardly had any sleep and was just keeping John awake.
Knees really swollen...never been like this before and I feel like my shoulders are touching my ears...but I think this is because I'm sort of tensing them up.
Apart from that things are running smoothly.
Going to have a nap after lunch....just hope the trammies don't knock me out.
Can hardly keep my eyes open.
When I surface I will get back to you.
Thanks for your support. You know I really appreciate you all.

    Hi,
Well, although swelling hasn't gone down I have had a really good sleep and feel more human.I didn't really expect to be painfree and I'm not but certainly nothing like I was.
I'll take another trammie tonight and hopefully back to normal service in the morning.
Oh the relief....Thanks for your support. It seems like I moan and moan and you listen.
John had the night off and went to the chippy, haven't had them for ages.
My sister is quite upbeat.Just as well she's not going back in hospital tomorrow as I'll probably be too drugged to drive....
I've fought taking anything stronger than cocos for quite a while now,but thought oooh needs must.
Well will have my cuppa now.I do hope you lovely kind people have had a reasonable day as possible. Take care May
