Hi all,

I'm sorry that I haven;t posted much lately, but despite using my light box I was starting to struggle with the depression. I went to docs 2 weeks ago and he's given me a slightly higher dose which he thinks I need for November, December and January then start to cut down in February, I'm finally starting to feel the benefit.
I've been to stay with mydaughter and family this weekend and we went for a bit of xmas shopping, had a lovely day except for a few bad mannered people. I used a mobility scooter for the first time and I felt like there were quite a few people I'd like to run over  but Iwas very good and restrained myself :lol: You don't realise till you use one how selfish some people are, but that's life and just one more thing for us arthur people to deal with.

    Hi Sue,
Your thread really struck a chord with me, my sister and I went Christmas shopping this weekend, I had to use 'Betsy' my decorated wheelchair, and the rudeness of some people  we pressed the button for the lift in W*itrose and an obnoxious man was tutting and sighing and moaning to us that there wouldn't be room in the lift as my wheelchair takes up too much space, my sister was about to explode at him, so I asked him 'is there anything wrong with your legs? he blushed and kept quiet then, on going out of the lift I made sure I ran over his toes  dont mess with Betsy the wheelchair! x

    hi Sue,

the winter months with their long night are horrible really but its not too long to february if you say it quick.

i always notice by feb he nights are shorter and the light holds till about 6.30.... i am sorry the light hasn; done it but i am sure it does help and the doc has also listened to you and helped you.

the rudeness... oh its the modern trend.... its becoming such a selfish and aggressive world now a days but sorry you had a rough ride with ignoramuses and hope it didn't spoil the day too much. hang in there Sue it will soon be spring. Cris x

    Hi

So many people are ignorant of how tough it is for those of us that require aids to get us about. I noticed that people used to get angry when I was on my crutches or using my walking stick on the odd times I risked going into town. How irritating for them....able bodied and able to walk without pain!!! Compassion for others seems to have gone out of the window. I think it irritatated my husband more than me. They need to spend a day in a wheelchair/scooter/crutches etc and see what it's really like.

Hi Sue, You where very good to be restrained, I've given up being nice to ignorant rude people, as far as I 'm concerned if you don't move after the 1st excuse me I say loud you get a wheel in your ankle! And that will teach you to be rude and ignorant!! Hope you feel better soon.

I have noticed that some people tend to try and knock me over when I am walking with my stick. When I see them heading for me I tense up my shoulder and wait for the impact, so far I have spun a few round and put one on the deck, but its what they deserve for trying to do it to me.

    Hi sue

    Nice to see you
Sorry that you have been feeling so low but is good to hear that you are now starting to feel a little better.

Good for you using a scooter to go shopping, I have a scooter and I think they are brilliant. You are so right about some people, they can be so ignorant, BUT luckily there are alot of people who are only too willing to help.

I hope you continue to feel much better as the days go on

    Take care

Sue its good to have you back, and Im so glad your GP has given something to help, like the others have said these dark nights and days sometimes can make you so down.
And you had such a good day with your daughter...nothing like retail therapy to help take your mind off things.
Has for the scooter ...people dont seem to have any patience any more, I have had people knock my stick from under me before now
You carry on feeling better x
    Love

    Hi Sue

good to see you again....really pleased you are back posting. Glad you have been using your light box and your GP is helping with your meds until the daylight hours have increased properly.

Well done for your Christmas shopping  Glad too that you didn't run anyone over despite their bad manners.

    Love

    Toni xx
