If you ever need an insult, but can't quite find the right words, have a look at this site.
( All in good fun, of course, and not to be used on anyone on the forum :!: )

http://www.william-shakespeare.org.uk/a1-shakespearean-insults-generator.htm

If Shakespeare was looking for a descriptive word, and couldn't find one he made one up! William Shakespeare invented words, and he used them to good effect when it came to Shakespearean Insults!

Here's a few I've generated from the site:

Thou cockered clay-brained babbling gossip!
Thou ruttish boil-brained nut-hook!
Thou artless weather-bitten measle!

It made me laugh anyway

    Hi Marion
I'm usually slow off the mark if someone is rude to me, and it's only later that I think of what I should have replied. However, I did think quickly when a woman was rude to me recently. I said, '' Oh, it's OK. Just two words spring to mind when I speak to you..... Battle and Axe!'' It took a moment for it to sink in, and then the look on her face was priceless

No, we wouldn't insult anyone on here, rehab especially. He makes us laugh ( and think! ) too much for that.

Isn't it Asda day tomorrow? Surely there will be opportunity a-plenty there . DD

PS. I had a brief attack of that which ails my students and read it as Shakesperean Insluts Generator.

I can see it now.Elizabeth---the alternative Romeo and Juliet

    Juliet:
O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, thou pestilent flap-mouthed giglet?
    Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I'll no longer be a crusty toad-spotted callet!

    Romeo:
[Aside] Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this errant tickle-brained flap-dragon!

I once wrote an essay about the contradictory language Juliet used when speaking about Romeo, after the Tybalt 'incident'. It is such a lovely play.

I agree, Elizabeth. Like all Shakespeare plays, it contains universal truths which are still relevant today. I'm a big fan of Shakespeare.
