help with understanding blood results

Hi there,
I wonder if you can enlighten me to these results.
i am diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis, following palindromic pattern.
My blood test results show i am positive for rheumatoid factor, i have anti ccp with a value of more than 200. ESR is 12mm/hr.
I understand that ESR is normal. And it appears (from what i have read on internet - dangerous i know!) That the anti-ccp is pretty high.
Am i correct, and is there a correlation with it being high equalling more aggressive disease?
I am seeing my consultant in a couple of weeks and will of course ask him, but just trying to get my head round this at the moment.
Thank you

Hi millie78
Thanks for your posting.
As we are not medically trained we are not qulaified to comment or advise on what the results of blood tests may mean.
For information on testing for arthritis see http://www.arthritisresearchuk.org/arthritis_information/arthritis_today_magazine/spring_2005/testing_testing.aspx.
Hopefully your rheumatologist will be able to give you a clear idea of what is going on when you see them.
Otherwise you call always contact the National Rheumatoid Arthritis society (http://www.nras.org.uk/) as they may have more information on testing and what the tests mean.
You are welcome to ring the helplines on 0808 800 4050 if you would like to have a chat about your current situation.
Regards
Nick
