Happy birthday from me too, Wonky. Early signs are we might get a bit of sunshine in these parts so I hope you do too. Whatever you do, enjoy it.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh thank you all so very much!!!
and Cris thank you for taking the time and suffering the pain to start the thread for me I was able to look at the thread on my phone, but couldn't get on the computer until tonight, so please forgive my tardy thanks to you all.
Well it certainly was a memorable birthday, but perhaps not quite in the way some of you might have imagined
I've not been too well this week, not the least because certain meds had conspired to 'bung me up' so I have to say that when I was finally able to 'go' on Thursday it was an early celebration
I did get a lovely day yesterday weather wise, which made a walk with littlelegs quite a pleasure. However, my planned birthday lunch out by necessity became a (very enjoyable) sandwich and coffee consumed in the car which was parked in the car park of a very windy and rainy industrial estate
Afternoon was spent visiting Mother-in-law who has been in hospital since last friday. She went in expecting an overnight stay and has yet to return home  although the news today is that she may escape tomorrow for which everyone will be very grateful. Hospital is 20 miles from her home, and that makes it a 90 mile round trip for us to visit
so ... .. once I'd done the marathon corridor shuffle round just about every part of the hospital (or so it seemed) including far too many times up and down different sets of stairs  I livened up visiting time by opening my cards
By the time we got home last night and had placated littlelegs we were too tired even for take away - so had beans on toast
I have to say today has been lovely tho - a lovely lie in, lunch out at a patisserie in town, and some shopping. And I've been able to look at e-readers, since I've got enough birthday money to treat myself, when I've decided which to get
so thank you all for helping to brighten up a strange day yesterday, and for reminding me of what a lovely supportive place this forum is. I'm determined to get on here more as and when I can, but arthur and his cousin fibro need squashing into submission first
hugs to you all

It is so lovely to hear from you, Wonky, don't be in any doubt about that, but please do not apologise for your absence. There is obviously a deal going on at the moment for you and I hope things are resolved in the best way possible (ie good health all round) and rest assured, we're here no matter what. DD
PS I reckon that few things in life beat a good un-bunging! It is one of life's smaller (but essential) pleasures.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
