withdrawal of DLA

I had my dla care component and with the subsequent loss of related benefits withdrawn and as a result I am considerably worse off. I am now facing a situation where I am living on state pension and having to lose the money which has enabled me to make my life easier. I have been referred for hydrotherapy but cannot go as I cannot afford the entrance fee for the health club along with a slimming club.
I generally feel very despondent and low and am considering making an appointment with GP to discuss everything.
I wish David Cameron et al would develop arthritis and suffer a drop in income.

Hi border
Thanks for your posting.
I'm sorry to hear about the withdrawal of your benefits and the despondency that you currently feel.
It may be worth contacting a benefits specialist to see if it is worth appealing. The following organisations can also advise you if you there are any grants you may be entitled to.
You can either contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau (http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm), DIAL UK (http://www.dialuk.info/about.asp), The Disability Law Service (http://www.dls.org.uk/about_us/contact.html) or Turn2Us (turn2us.org.uk/).
I would encourage you to ring our helplines on 0808 800 4050 to have a chat about your current situation.
Regards
Nick
