Thinking caps on everyone! What common property do these words share?

assess
banana
dresser
grammar
potato
revive
uneven

There are probably some others which could be added to the list but I don't know them. :oops: DD

    If you take the first letter, place it at the end of the word, and then spell the word backwards, it will be the same word.

    Joan, you don't need to spell it backwards, just read it right to left but yes, spot on (I thought you'd know this one!). I shall be thinking about the three letter all evening whilst eating ma curry, then come back and google the answer! DD

    Well done, dillydream, except you used a number instead of a letter for the last one. It should be AT :grin:

    While you're working out part 2 of the last puzzle, here's another one:

    3. If ‘B 9’ means benign, can you think of:

    (a) a letter and a number which sound like ‘earlier’;

    (b) two letters and a number which sound like ‘to diverge’;

    (c) a letter, a number, another letter and another number which sound like ‘to lessen your guilt’?

    In case anyone wants to know the answers:

    2. . Which sets of three letters of the alphabet, when spoken aloud, sound like words that mean respectively:
    (a) a flower
    (b) a being
    (c) an opponent

    (a) P N E (peony); (b) N T T (entity); (c) N M E (enemy)

    3. If ‘B 9’ means benign, can you think of:

    (a) a letter and a number which sound like ‘earlier’;

    (b) two letters and a number which sound like ‘to diverge’;

    (c) a letter, a number, another letter and another number which sound like ‘to lessen your guilt’?

    (a) B 4 (before); (b) D V 8 (deviate; (c) X 10 U 8 (extenuate).
