Hello, Its been ages since I was last here. Well I was diagnosed with Rhemy a year and half ago and since then been on sulfazalazine (sorry spelt wrong), which has been amazing.
I havent had a flare in almost 8 months but I have have caught the sick bug from the kids over the past few days I have been in so much pain. Resulting in not being able to walk, dress or wash myself today.
I called the GP for advice and they have said to rest!! Rest, cant sit, stand, lay as my pain and arthritis in in my lower back. Keep taking the meds.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for resting as I dont want to seeze up x:-x
Also I was wondering if anyone can guide me, do I ask to see my GP or specialist as its ow under shared care and has taken a year to see specialist again!!! Nightmare to see anyone about this lately x
Oh well its great to be back with u guys,
Love and hugs
xxxx Claire x

Hi Claire
Good to see you again x;)
sorry l have no direct experince of thsi but have had back surgery and remember some of the advice from thge consultant at the time.
Rest for a bit (lying down...pillow between knees or under knees....depending which is most comfy)
then sit a bit (this was the hardest for me too!) Plenty pillows behind back and maybe a wheatie if it helps
Then move a bit....walking.... even if it is only a couple of steps.
take your painkillers and anti-inflams as directed, BUT try to overlap them so painkiller then two hours later anti-inflam etc etc. GET ahead of the pain and stay there.
Love

Thank you Toni,
I cant seem to be able not be in pain at the mo. My anti inflamatories are twice a day but I am taking tramadol but its not doing anything. The dr's were talking about resting for the day and if worse I should call um back and they would start the steroids.
Thanks for your tips though, lets hope it works soon xxxxxxxxxx0 -
It sounds as if the virus has caused a flare, you may need to call the doc back and get the steroids. I know if I get a bug then it causes a flare for me and my steroids have to be increased to give my body a chance to recover. That is just my expereince.
If you can't get comfy enough to rest then you need to expalin this and maybe try a different pain killer??
Hope you get some relief soon.0 -
Thank you so much for your help xxxxxxx0
