Cold causing pain flare up!

I'm not sure if it's a fact but since it has got colder I have had different joints aching and now my back and both hips have started to become very painful and swollen and 'flared up'. I've had to start taking oro-morph to top up on the pain relief being good and just taking 10mls and it does help alot. But last night I was woken at 3am by sharp pain in my hips and my wonderful OH snoring so loud it could have been heard in the next close!! a good mix! So I hobbled into the guest room and sat in bed and read my 'breaking dawn' book now just past half way of the book! At 7am I ended up getting dressed carefully and brushing my teeth and starting my Saturday. So I 'm resting and dosed up on oro-morph and keeping my fingers crossed this flare-up is a short one. x

Poor you. I've been much worse since it's got colder too and I don't think it is a coincidence. I hope your flare-up is a short one too. Rest, rest, rest and try to avoid going out if you can. Staying snuggled up at home under a blanket is the best thing to do a winter flare. Take care. x0

Hi
I have also been affected by the cold weather. It seems weather change (both hot & cold), seems to trigger my ra and have experienced flares in the past triggered by the weather.
I have not had a flare on this occasion, but I was not experiencing any morning stiffness, but since it got colder I am now and my right knee has been throbbing on and off in particular in the mornings this week. I've taken pain relief the last 2 or 3 mornings again.
I hope your flare is not long lived
Take care
