Motab cars

Just been around another garage looking for a car, the salesman said that when the system changes in January he reckons that the manufacturers will have to change their range of models offered and their prices otherwise those offered as part of the scheme will be few and far between. In order to get a list out on January 1st it must have been made up already?

A lot of the present ranges only offer automatic in their higher spec models and the type of cars suitable for getting in and out of are also more expensive. If they want the business they must change. I'm going to wait, even though it takes 3 months (allegedly) to order, build and deliver a car.

Go to the Motability website and download their data. The list they now have would apply to a car you ordered in December, however, if you wait until January the advance payment will be those in their January list.

Unfortunately, the higher cars (the ones not slung low to the ground) and therefore easier to get in and out of, tend to be middle to higher spec ones and therefore the AP (advance payment) is more.

I had to wait 5 months for my latest Motability car to be with me so always ask about the lead-in times. If you need it sooner rather than later, that will probably make you adjust your "I'd like it to have" list and may affect what you eventually order.

    HI GB,
Good point, usually decisions make themselves, sorting a car out is not quick and easy, most of the choices have advance payments or the model is not auto, back to an old banger? Which is what I was going to do.

    Hi Airwave

Grace may well be right there could well be worth looking into sooner rather than later.

Old banger can wait a bit longer then eh??
