Blogging helps

I started my blog 3 weeks ago and I wanted to report back how helpful it's been. I wanted it to be useful for myself and for other people with PR and other kinds of arthritis and so, at first, I was wary about telling my friends and family. However, gradually, I've got up the courage to let them know and the feedback has been really positive and supportive - especially from my mum. She was already supportive but it seems that she's got a new level of understanding from reading what it's like for me. A few of my friends have also said how useful they've found it in understanding what I've been going through.
I've also found it very therapeutic for me too as a way of organising my thoughts and feelings towards my PR. I'm not blogging daily as I'm wary of boring people, but even just once or twice a week has been useful.
I got a particularly unhelpful letter from my rheumy today about my treatment options and it sort of sent me into a spin, but writing the blog has helped, even though I still feel pretty lonely and alone about what's next for me in terms of treatment.
It's all up here: http://palindromicrheumatism.wordpress.com
I'd love it if people could sign up to it. It helps to know that there are readers!
cheers

Hi Toni,
Yes, there's a link to the Arthritis Care website - but not the forum. Do you think I should link to that too?

The main thing is that it is helping you and surely that is all that matters. People often comment on here that the fact of writing down (or typing out!) what is on their mind is both cathartic and therapeutic and I guess a blog just takes that to the next level. I wish you (and your followers!) well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I have read your blog too..is very good. It's quite intriguing as each one of us is telling a different story but can still understand and sympathise..
I have had some great comments too and it is encouraging me to keep it going and to share with others.
