Hi All
For the last few weeks I have been having a bad night where I keep waking up almost every hour once a week, is this down to the MX. Sometimes I am just feeling sick or in pain but more often than not it's just waking up, of course by the next day I am completely shattered and fit for nothing.

Hi Sylvia
Lack of sleep is dreadful.....you cant function the next day...can you? {I cant}
Dont know about your drugs so the only suggestion is go and see your GP again and ask for advice

HI, Its horrible when you keep waking up, I agree the best thing is to talk to your GP. I have amatriptylne at night, which help the pain and make me sleep better. They are not sleeping pills or addictive. Hope things get better for you.

Getting a good night's sleep is so important and sometimes so hard, many of us on here struggle with getting proper rest and whatever we do manage is rarely as refreshing as it should be. There are meds available to help so perhaps a natter with your GP is in order. I wish you well and I hope things improve for you soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Might be worth a trip to GP and tell them how things are, he may be able to offer you something to help you sleep better at night..xxxTracyxx0

There's nothing worse than watching every hour at night especially if your in pain, and then its a vicious circle because you want to sleep all day . Try and get stronger meds for nighttime, mines have helped a wee bit Take care

Hi Sylvia
like Sue l have amitripyline for night time and they do help a fair bit.
They are an antidepressant but used in a tiny dose as we take enough to help you sleep.
I would go and have a char with your doc too.
You can then seek some reassurance that it's not the MTX

Sleepless nights are not good I am having big problems with my neck at night it drives me mad, Only sleep for around 3 hours the rest of the night its tossing and turning.
I am on amytriptiline but think its down to cold weather as I find my bones always play up more when the cold weather starts.
Hope you are feeling better soon.0 -
Hi Syliva, I can understand how you have been, with this flare up I'm suffering with at the moment it's affecting my sleep due to the pain in my hips & back, if I slightly move or try to roll on to my hips I'm awake and will be a wake all night, I've found word search books are a great help when you can't sleep also reading books you enjoy.
I take amitriptyline as well but have found I've become amune to the doseage I'm taking at the moment and my doctor wants to see me when I'm alittle better to sort out putting me on a higher dosage.
The next night I wake up and can't sleep and I'm doing my word search book I will think of you Syliva and wonder if your sat awake somewhere like me not able to sleep!0 -
Thank you all for your replies. I do take Amitriptyline I see the consultant Monday and will mention it to him. Thanks again.
