Hi all

Hope that you are all safe and well in this horrible weather

Anyway, yesterday I went to my sons school Christmas play. Beautiful it was :-) I knew I was seizing up, after sitting on those teeny tiny plastic chairs who wouldn't. At the end, it was the mass exit, my hubby stepped by/over a chair, so I followed him (teeny tiny chairs remember) but where I had seized up my hip movement wasn't quite up to clearing past the chair and my foot caught it. Over I went :-(   I had my phone and camera in my hands so didn't put my hands out and went straight down onto my knees :-( The pain was awful. I managed to get up and sat for a minute but I felt soooooo sick and so stupid. Today I feel as though I have been hit by a bus. My right knee has ballooned and is so painful, and I am just generally stiff and hobbling around.

Feeling quite sorry for myself and mad at this damn OA

Hugs
Beckie x

    Hi Beckie
I can imagine how your fall really shook you up. You poor thing.
I hope you are resting your poor knees and using a bag of peas to reduce any swelling.

    Take care
    Hugs and a cuppa

    Hi Beckie

I am so sorry to hear about your fall and I hope you feel a little better today. Just to join the upsa daisy group, I fell not ten minutes ago, at home and went down on my bad shoulder - of course. x:shock: I have put my neck brace on although I do not need to wear it inside only out now. I dare not take it off to see if I feel any damage done to my neck. My appointment on 22nd to see the consultant regarding my spinal op, cannot arrive quick enough. I was barefoot, knocked a toe on a threshold and somehow or other went splat! It is soooooooo annoying, isn't it?

    Hugs

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

I empathise, I went an absolute purler on Monday and I am still feeling the after-effects. It's not nice, is it? It's best to rest, try not to stress the knees too much and I hope there isn't too much bruising: if there is then either arnica or witch hazel should help those to heal. I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Beckie,
That was a nasty shock going down like that your whole body will have been shaken up.
I hope your knee starts to ease off soon and the swelling goes down, rest as much as you can.

PS well done for saving the camera, hope the pictures turned out well but one Christmas play you will definitely remember. x:roll:

    hi Beckie,

what a horrible way to end the day for you. flower you might have ti get it looked at if its come up like that cus of the possibility of the swelling being the synovial thing.... thats what mine do cus i always have to smash on to them.....

if its still as painful and as swollen please get someone to look at it tomorrow 9or thats today now i guess) hope it will be a lot easier for you today and take care of it with plenty of rest and elevation but please just get someone to check it over,. Cris x

Hi Beckie, I'm sorry to hear about your fall, I think we all need to be wrapped in cotton wool at the moment! Make sure you rest up for a few days and let the bruising come out. And if it doesn't seem to ease up go and see your doctor. Take care and I hope it eases quite quickly for you.
