Hi ,

Just a quickie....

For all you guys using Enbrel....How long did it take before you felt any benefits? and did you manage to cut down any other treatments/ painkillers when it started to work?

Thanks :P

    Hi,
You won't believe it but I felt better the next day... My doctor told me that it's in my head but the nurse who trained me to give myself injections said she saw it happen a lot. That was about 3 years ago. And because later it stopped helping I'm not on it any more.
Good luck and I hope it's good for you.

    Hiya

I've been on enbrel for over a year now and it worked within a couple of weeks for me, at my 6 months check up my doctor lowered my methotrexate by 2 tablets so I was dead chuffed. I still use the odd naproxen and paracetamol but not nearly as many as I used to take, its worked brill for me.

Hope it works as well for you

    Hi Topgirl,

I had my 4th Enbrel injection on Monday so I'm new to it too.

I felt an improvement in the evening after my 1st injection in that I'd had a pain in my knuckles for a fortnight and it had gone  I did think it was my imagination and didn't believe it could work that quickly but now I've changed my mind.

I stopped my anti inflammatories 3 weeks ago and just take paracetamol occasionally, no other painkillers.

My shoulders and hands feel freer and I just generally feel better in myself.

If it gets no better than this that's fine by me because I'd forgotten how it is to feel like this .......really well.

I hope it works as well for you too. x:-D
