Hi Everyone,
Physio has told me pain in feet is plantar fasciitis.I've never heard of it,coco's aren't touching it and aren't for some reason dulling the pains in my knees and back today.
I don't know whether to speak to GP on phone tomorrow or just persevere with it.
I'm just fed up today...think its just getting me down.....May

    Hi May

I am sorry that you have this foot problem, ouch. To cheer you up, patients with plantar fasciitis will improve within 10 months of starting simple treatment methods.

Rest. Decreasing or even stopping the activities that make the pain worse is the first step in reducing the pain.

Ice. Rolling your foot over a cold water bottle or ice for 20 minutes is effective. This can be done 3 to 4 times a day.

Exercise. Plantar fasciitis is aggravated by tight muscles in your feet and calves. Stretching your calves and plantar fascia is the most effective way to relieve the pain that comes with this condition. Surely your physio will be able to suggest the exercies that are beneficial to do for this complaint.

    Chin up,

    Elna x

I have that in my right foot and oh boy does it hurt! I found that if I could get through a couple of hours walking and wincing it would then begin to ease so that by the end of the day I could stand with no trouble. My consultant told me what the problem was at my last appointment but I forgot to ask her what (if anything) could be done: I am seeing her again in January so I will ask then. Currently it's in 'remission' and I hope it stays that way! DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi
Elna...physio gave me exercises....but I'm not supposed to let anywhere else crack while doing them...impossible as my ankles crack if I move.

DD..walking dog twice a day as well as the other walking I do.
Just so fed up...pain in another place..and of all places to get it.

So because I am walking oddly makes pains in other places worse.
Still got a painful lunp on the side of my foot....no idea what that is.
Right...taking dog now...she has already been for her booster jab.
One of these days I'll tell you her name.....May

Hi sorry I'm late with this reply but when I had it Dr. sent me to
orthotics at hospital who made me some insoles. You can buy some at the chemist that work and could help the same.

The foot specialist gave me some insoles and a plastic 'boot splint' that I had to wear in bed. It kept my foot at right angles to my leg which alllowed the tendon or whatever it is to sort itself out. I remember it being very painful, especially first thing when I got out of bed. I couldn't put any weight on it at all.
It cleared up in a few weeks with this treatment. I have felt it slightly since, but nothing as bad as that first time, and I still have the boot in the loft if I need it again.
