Swollen lymph nodes due to RA?

Went for my annual breast check up yesterday and consultant could feel a swollen lymph node under my arm and nodules in one breast. She said it was probably the RA. Still had to have a mammogram and will have an ultrasound in the new year to be sure.

Anyone else come across this? I do feel very under par most of the time and as if I'm constantly fighting an infection - am between anti tnfs at the moment and only on steroids. The latter seem to keep a certain amount of joint inflammation under control but not the other stuff (though have very bad shoulder this morning and knee flaring up again.)

I haven't really experienced the full impact of RA due to being on dmards and cimzia but am disconcerted about how unwell I feel again. Any thoughts?

I've not personally experienced this in all my RA years, Salamander, but it sounds like your lady knew what she was talking about and is being thorough which is good. If the mammogram was yesterday that could explain today's sore shoulder. I hope you can soon get back on something which will control your RA better.

Try not to worry too much especially at this time of year when you've no doubt got a lot on your plate. Hopefully you'll get a scan soon and get to the bottom of it all.
Hope you get your meds sorted too. Seems like we constantly have to keep on at them otherwise things get forgotten or overlooked.
    Good luck.

    Hi Sal,
Fingers crossed that you start on Enbrel soon as I know things have not been so good for you for a while so I hope 2012 will be a better year for you.

Well I am glad they did the mammogram and the Ultrasound will put your mind at rest. I have had nodules found pre RA which turned out to be nothing to worry about. You could have done without the extra stress though.
