Does anyone keep a pain diary ?

I've started for the new year as a few times I have noticed in the past that I tend to feel worse in the build up to a period (sorry blokes)...I'm kind of wondering do hormones play a part with the symptoms ?

Interested to hear of anyone keeping a diary and if you found any patterns ?

Thanks xxx

Afraid that after so many years of RA ; my pain diary would be the same each day ~ pain , pain and more pain ! I try to focus on other symptoms like whether I've managed to do my hand exercises etc. I do consult the barometer daily as the air pressure makes a difference to my aches , but I'm way too old to be affected by monthly cycles . asked my doc this as thought it was just me feeling the pain more at this time but she said hormones make arther worse (she specialises in womans troubles so knows what she is talking about)

I can barely remember pre-menopause days, cakegirl, but, in my book, anything that raises the temperature makes the RA worse.

As for hormones – the only time I was ever RA-and-med-free was during my first pregnancy. Pure heaven throughout. Followed by pure hell. Second pregnancy, I just skipped the heavenly bit. There was no third.

    Hello,

I don't keep a pain diary although I probably should.

I definitley think hormones play a part. I'm visibly a lot more swollen when I'm pre-menstrural. I take the pill back-to-back so fortunately I don't have to experience it very often.

    All the best.

As I'm 56 and post hystorectomy 26 years ago, I'm not much help. Except that I always noticed that illnesses or headaches, etc were worse at that time of the month.
