Hello Everyone and a happy new year to you all.
I thought I would now just give you a brief update of how I am.
Well after the op I had a real sore throat and was unable to eat properly.(you know what i mean, wolf the food down) I was easting like a sparrow, it was pathetic. I was afraid of food getting stuck. (there i was thinking gosh I won't beable to eat all these lovely xmas chocs)
But Luckily it only lasted about 3 days.
As you may or may not know I hadd visitors non stop the day after I came home. Leading upto and a couplle of days after christmas.
Well, everyone said how well I looked. (I did look healthy, my face flushed , probably with blood pressure)
But after a last visitor the day after boxing day i went into melt down. I had to say polietly that i wanted a few days in bed with no visitors at all.
I spent 4 days in bed just rest rest resting. Which....alot of you have probably worked out is so not like me.
Well a few days ago i then developed a real bad sore throat and again lost the voice (well not completely but I could hardly be heard)
This time a viral infection i guess as now i have a silly annoying cough.
I am not feeling one hundred percent and I am still taking it easy for another week or two. But I do hope to be around on here more often.
I go see the consultant on the 31st.
I will let you know what he says.
Thank you all again for all your support.
Take care
Lots of love
Juliepf xx

It is lovely to see you back where you belong, our pink flamingo, but we don't want to see too much of you until you are fully recovered. It is finally done and that's great but the pressures of Christmas and visitors can make recovery difficult, especially when you factor in a cold/throat infection/virus.
I know it is not in your nature to lie in bed and do nothing but just put that duster down for a while yet, woman. All in good time. You've come a long way in a few weeks and I'm so pleased for you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh dear, what can one say? Hopefully you have learned a lesson here my lovely, and are now doing what you should be, ie resting. I know it's tedious (especially if one is used to being active) but it is, ultimately, one of the best medicines around. Keep warm, keep comfy, but above all KEEP DOING NOWT. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Julie,
Nice to see you about but sorry things have been a bit rough for you. Its hard to say no to friends who want to come and see you especially after an op so its kinda understandable you didn't. With Christmas as well its even harder....
Hope your resting up no and that it will soon all ease up and you will be back to your old self. Tea and a hug Cris xx0 -
Hi Julie, lovely to hear from you. Sorry that things are not too good. Visitors are exhausting when not well, so I am not suprised you needed to rest.
I hope the virus clears up soon. rest up and keep warm. You will soon be back to normality, but it does take time. Patience is required, and most of us fight against it.
Take care0 -

You are so right, Suzygirl. I’m thinking of making a collection of the strange-but-true advice we give out. This would be a good place to start. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh Julie..., You did as you where told and then the dreaded Christmas visitor rush hit!! You have to be polite and entertain people! They don't understand and you have to sound nasty and say 'have you got any bugs?' if so can you not come and visit until you are 100% clear of it! And you sounded like I have been! It just completely drains you the next day! But you sound 100 x worse with tiredness!! I still feel tired today and it's also because you have the OH home (and if you have them kids) my OH is like a big kid! He was so bored he went and brought 50 playstation 2 games of ebay! And he only played the one! But he wore me out! I'm sooo glad he is back at work!
I hope you get a good rest now Julie and get your mojo back soon!0 -
Morning, Julie. How's the sexy voice doing? (I know. A little more voice and a little less of the sexy would be better.)
Just keep resisting the housework. No extreme dusting or drawer tidying. You know you can (not) do it if you try.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Just wanted to say 'Hi Julie' and keep resting. However, if you start to feel less tired and the sore throat goes I insist that you squash any sociable/domestic urges to get out of bed and save your energy for getting well again! You are allowed out for a short time for visits to the bathroom though ......we can't have you wetting the bed!

Hi you lovely people
Thank you for your replies and I do promise that i am taking things easy.
None of this
But plenty of this
The throat is still not good because of all the coughing but i am keeping it well lubricated with water and juice and trying not to talk too much, which is so very difficult for a chatterbox like me.
I have today made a hair appointment for a week on thursday evening which I am sure will perk me up too, as my hair is a few weeks over due as I cancelled the one I had the day before my op.
Onwards and upwards thats where i am going. Chin up (cause i can't look down properly lol) and rearing to get well .
I hope you are all reasonably well and a big thankyou again.
Love & hugs to you all
