I have had an awful Christmas with my aches and pains but hopefully that is all behind me now. I've been on sulfasalazine for about 6 months now and it is finally doing something. I just have to remember to take the evening dose. Also my local hospital has been running a self-help course which has helped me find new ways of doing everyday tasks. Hopefully this will protect my joints from getting worse. They are running another one this month focusing on exercise and I have signed up for that one too. Fingers crossed that it helps.

I hope it helps too, Flossy47. Taking control and having a positive attitude usually pay dividends. Good for you.

If it's as good as the first one it should help. Luckily it's with the same person so I won't have to tell her all about myself again.

    Hi Flossy,
Good to hear that things are improving for you-well done on getting proactive-wish my hospital did those courses too!
I take my sulfasalazine with breakfast and tea to remind me to take them, and the family are now so well tuned in that they remind me if they don't see me taking it! Maybe linking it to a mealtime would help you to remember too?

There is no one here to remind me since my husband was diagnosed with a mental health problem last year and is now in full time care. As for taking my tablets at mealtimes that could be a problem as I don't eat at regular times because my appetite varies from day to day. I must try to sort that out sometime.

Hello flossy, you sound as though you have a great deal on your plate, I am so sorry. I used to forget my evening dose of sulph so I bought one of those 7 day tablet thingies and quickly got into the habit of filling the days on a Sunday morning and keeping it near my glasses, I found that helped a great deal as I could see at a glance which doses I had missed. I am off to bed now, maybe we could chat tomorrow? I wish you well. DD

I've got one of those but I still forget. I keep mine on the table by my chair. Maybe I need to stick it to my hand so I can see it all the time. Main problem I've got is that with the pain and other health problems over Christmas I have spent most of the last 2 weeks in bed.
