Just when i thought things were going ok at last i'm wide awake with the pain. Why has Arthur kicked me in the bum this time. Not overdone it recently and I've been doing my hand exercises.
Oh well off downstairs to get some pain nummers, not that they will have much effect but I have to try.

Ah, arthritis' favourite little trick. That sense of security that all is well, that you are on top of things, that tentative thought of 'Arthritis? What arthritis?' - the dormant beast senses that and decides to remind you that it's still there. Appreciate the better times when they are with you and try not to get too angry when they end as I reckon that feeds the beast even more and that is a bad idea. Get the dullers on board, flossy, and I hope they soon take of the worst of it all and you begin to feel a little better. It is a pig of a disease at times, isn't it? Grrrrrrrrr. Take care. DD

Thanks for the replies folks. Did eventually nod off but not until about 5 or 6 o'clock. Woke up a couple of hours later feeling c**p. Painkillers again this morning but they're not doing much good. Pain is so bad I'm still in bed. Thank god for smart phones.

Pain down to a dull ache now thank goodness. Had to take co-codamol so now i have a headache. They always give me a rebound headache. Lack of sleep doesn't help. Still in bed hoping i might nod off again.

Well I didn't nod off this afternoon. Hope the dullers hold back the pain long enough for me to get to sleep tonight but I doubt it somehow. Doesn't help that there's a gale blowing outside and a cold draught blowing inside. Need my hot water bottle tonight but can't manage the kettle to fill it.

Buy a wheat bag, Flossie47. They don't stay hot as long as a hot water bottle but at least they only need popping in the microwave.

I don't have a microwave. I've managed to do the hot water bottle. It was a bit of a struggle pouring the water from the kettle to a smaller jug and then into the hot water bottle. Pain duller time then back to bed.
