I am wondering what other people do for cardio workout with arthritis?

I used to do a lot of running before getting arthritis in my feet.
I also did a lot of kayaking, climbing, windsurfing and sailing.

Now I have one of my foot fused, kayaking, climbing are out the question and windsurfing is going to be hard to balance as one of my subtalar joints is fused and the other one has coalition + arthritis on it so it doesnt move as well as it should.

I now just have to see about sailing.

I am starting to not feel as fit as I used to be and would really like to hear other people stories and ideas.

Something simple as running or power walking is no good for me, my walking is very slow compared to what it used to be like.

My ideas now, have disappeared. I dont know anything else.

Thank you.

MOST council run health centres/Sports centres run Activity for life programes that can be taylored to suit the client. Its free of charge if you go through your GP. However if like me you problem is from head to foot it can be difficult but you can do it. None waite bearing exercise like The bike, swiming baths, Tia Che its all good stuff and it can be yours for free.
    Take care now

Like Colin, mine's all over so it's difficult. Swimming is always recommended as a really good exercise for arthritics as the water supports you so there isn't so much stress on the joints. I joined our local authority gym but stopped going because I couldn't stay on any piece of equipment for long, needed them all adjusting and poor Mr SW was spending all his time sorting me out instead of getting his own exercise. I'm now reduced to sit ups on the bed!
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
