Hi All,

Happy New Year!
Sorry, I've not been arround much, but I've had a few family problems and have had to go over from Norfolk to Oxford twice over the holidays and will have to go back soon, in fact it looks as if it may become a regular trip and 6 hours in a day pinned to the car seat has made my back sooo painful! Also the tension and the worry over my niece, of whom I am now next of kin.
Anyway, enough of all that. Whether its the strain of being driven around or the tension of having to visit my niece, who is now in a care home which is a very nice place and so far she is enjoying the company and activities, I don't know but I can't seem to remember anything and feel so confused and my pain seems to be increased everywhere at once, with my lumber spin and hips really bad. I also have the yeast infection back in my mouth! The doc said, before Christmas, that she thinks it could be FM and she wants to refer me back to the rheumy, I put it off as I knew things would be getting hard with my niece, but I suppose I will have to ask for a referal.
Has anyone else noticed increased thrush (oral or whatever) with FM, or am I just a bit low? Sorry I'm rambling on, thats how I am at the moment. I feel sorry for my poor husband!
Love Sue xxx

I've had oral thrush for years now, I put it down to the meds and a severely suppressed immune system. I now have it at the other end too (deep, deep joy  ) proabably thanks to being so physically tired after the Christmas period. You are not on the meds that I am so I hope that the good old natural yoghurt thing will work, if not your GP can give you some stuff to help shift it. I think you have it, woodbon, as you have had a very stressful time and you are tired, it's your body's response to that but - remember - I am NOT a doc! I hope it clears up soon. DD

    Hi Sue

was wondering where you had been!

Sounds liek things are catching up on you a bit and if those hourneys are going to be regular have you thought about one of the heat packs you can buy for your back??

As for the thrush a lot get it with meds some blame naproxen for instance...l can't remember what you are on....????

If you need to see rheumy again l think you must be guided by your GP who as l remember is really nice and good.

    Anyway Happy New Year

    Love

Yes, I do have Nystatin and I'm on it at the moment, its mouth drops, YUK, but it works. I have a heated seat in the car, which is lovely, and they work independatly so I can have mine on and my husband isn't getting too hot. I just feel so tired all the time and fall asleep when I sit down. I've fallen asleep over this keyboard more than once and woken up with a shock as I'm about to topple over. Its not very comfortable!

I feel it's all just getting a bit much and the more that happens to worry me, the more pain and tiredness I have. I'm having a job to stand and sit for long and have to keep moving around to keep the joints from stiffening up. I am going to try and get an appointment with the GP. She wants to refer me to the hospital rheummy, but I didn't want to add something else to the list before Christmas, as I had a bad experience with a rheummy consultant back in the summer.
    I'll stop moaning! Love Suexxx

I loved Nystatin, gorgeous stuff. I took it fo one year then gave up trying to shift the oral gunk: if I keep taking the meds to help the arthritis then I'll keep getting the oral. The other end is easier today. Hooray!

Keep up the drops woodbon, they should clear it sooner rather than later and believe me it's a better option than this orange-flavoured gel I also tried: you had to squirt a measure into your mouth and keep it there for as long as possible, now that should have been lovely but it had the consistency of wallpaper paste and made me feel REALLY yucky - I hated it! Hi, My doc said that having oral thrush once means that it often returns. I like one of the makes of Nystain, the other is thicker and the texture is a bit yuk for me not the taste. Strange really!
