    Hi,
mine was very similar to the DLA assessment. It was held at the same DWP building, by a Dr. She was absolutely lovely.

Discussed the form I had filled in, what treatment I was having, what I could and couldn't do. I had all the dates, consultants details, GP details, medications etc with me. Talked about my previous job (and how gutted I am not to be able to do it anymore). She was brilliant, suggested different ways my experience could be used one day (eg tutoring online or over the 'phone).

She did a very brief physical - I was in a fair amount of pain and she stopped it pretty quickly. She said I would be asked back in a year, but to focus on 'going home and looking after yourself, you won't improve if you are worrying about work'.

She also ordered me a taxi home. It was all much less stressful than I had expected.
I received payment soon after, certainly don't remember waiting any length of time.

Good luck with it all x

    Hi argaret

there have been a lot of threads on this subject and sadly not all as positive as Sulky's.

Suggest you take a look (do a search top rt corner of the page).

Main thing is to NOT try to do stuff you can't do, remember the whole time you are there you are being assessed. The ability to 'sit' for a length of time, any walking aids you use as well etc.

Also would advise if you can that you take along someone for support and as a witness.

Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

    Love

    Toni xx

Hi Margret, The only thing I would say to you is TAKE A WITNESS.

They are invaluable, especially if you do need to appeal. Frod is right not all experiences are as positive, but i wish you good luck with this.
