Hi everyone

Well I took a deep breath and went for it. Told them at work how I felt and would like a break during Saturday shift (8hrs) and to be able to work alternate Saturdays just to let me have a breather.

Their reply was, they could stop me working Saturday and get someone else in, but could not make hours lost through the week!. My supervisor rang the Cluster manager and told her I wanted to stop working Saturdays with immediate effect, (pack of lies). I am now waiting to see or hear from the Cluster Manager with regards to this.

I came home very dispondant as you can imagine, then my supervisor rang this afternoon to see if i could change my hours through the week during the last week in Jan and first week in Feb cos a collegue was having child minder issues, the cheek of it when no one will help me out. Dint give her a reply as it might have been rude.

And so the saga continues...........

Will keep you all updated

Love n hugs

Can't believe that. So it's ok for you to cover someone else but when you want the favour returned they won't do it. And lying to the cluster manager about you is ridiculous. Do these people have no morals.

i would put it in writing if i was you and send copies on to manager they are in the wrong here they should make sure you get a break away from job and telling them you want to stop doing sats is petty. when you go in next tell them you are willing to help them out if they help you it should be a two way street. if i was you would contact cab to see what they suggest val

Hi, I'm sorry that you have been treated without much consideration. Don't employers have to make arrangements for people who have health and disability problems?

I thought now, with all the emphasis on keeping disabled people at work as long as possilbe, employers have to make reasonalbe adjustments, but I don't know the law.
    Keep fighting!

    Hi Sheila,
It is a good idea to put this in writing and also cab.
This is unfair and unbelievable.I certainly wouldn't change my hours to help some-one else out. They wouldn't help you.
You are probably worried about your job...I am pretty sure you can't lose it under the disability working act.
My daughter has AS and has managed to cut down her hours..which helps her and she had no problem.
I don't usually agree with doing this but I would Google the law on disability and working.
I would also ring the helpline here. They are fantastic and would know the law better than me.
It seems we are having to fight for everything and it is worse when we are ill. Good luck. May

Hi Sheila, I can't believe your employer has treated you like that! Your human not a piece of paper or a number! I had an employer like that, and I ended up writing a 2 page letter ranting on about them not treating their employee's like humans instead treating them as numbers on a piece of paper and I handed in my notice. They tried to keep me from going and offered me a pay rise and I said no. Anyway back to your plight!
Yes you should definately contact the C.A.B as they are good on employment rights, not sure if Arthritis Care may be able to help you? they might know the best place to go so maybe call them and ask no harm in trying!
Your right kellerman, is crazy how you have to fight for everything when you are ill, the worse time to fight when you have no energy!
Hope you get it sorted would love to hear how you get on.

    Oh Sheila

l do not know what to say  No-one has heard you at all.

You may have to do this again l think. Would you feel brave enough to get it put in writing?

ACAS have a very good helpline for employment advice.

    Love

Go to the CAB and talk to them, I know you might need a wage but your health comes first. this is now becoming psycological. Stress plays a big part, the more stressed you are the worse your condition can get .
I would tell tat woman to bog off. sounds to me like a right shower of Bssss. as you havent got enough to cope with. You might have a look through working matters i'm sure i saw something there on these lines a couple of years ago. god people like that make my blood boil you ask for help and they dump on you.
    You take care

    Hi everyone
The saga is still ongoing, not been able to see the cluster Manager as yet, she is aware of what is going on. Will wait and see if she comes  and sorts something out.

In the meantime I went into work today and was handed a piece of paper and was informed they needed me to write that I was prepared to give up working on a Saturday! well told him he could whistle. So am still no the wiser of what is going to happen. I am determined to hang on in there and get what I deserve ie better work conditions, breaks and an understanding of how they can help me.

    Love n hugs
