How do you cheer yourself up?

I've had a few ''down in the dumps'' days recently for no particular reason. Maybe it's the usual January blues, I don't know. Anyway, I decided to cheer myself up today. I did my hair, put on my make-up and nice clothes, and went out with my friend. We went to a National Trust place near here where the cafe and shop are still open, and I bought a lovely necklace and ear-rings in the sale. Then we had a cup of tea and a piece of cake as we put the world to rights and had a good laugh. By the time I got home, I felt much better and more positive.
What do you do to cheer yourself up if you feel down in the dumps :?:

Morningi Joan, sounds like the perfect way to cheer yourself up to me.
The days are getting longer, the nights are getting shorter, its so much easier when the brighter days are here I feel.
Talking and seeing friends or birdwatching (if body allows me to get out) is the best thing to cheer me up.
I love nature and seeing the different birds. watching them is such a relaxing pastime and if you see something special its always a bonus and makes meClare xx0 -
hello Joan mi dear.
I usually cheer up when I know my pals are there for me
Failing that I ask Ra what amazing adventures he's been up to lately. Lol

Sit beside the sea and enjoy a quiet cup of tea , and on really miseryguts days a sausage sandwich too ! I find that watching the waves eases my mood wonderfully . Jillyb0

Sausages seem to be cropping up, are we so easily pleased? Are sausages the real answer? Do we just need more sausages, we need to know!
p.s. mine were pork and apple this morning, with an egg.0 -
Depending on the severity of the ‘downness’:
1.Bright, cheerful music
2. Get some fresh air
3. Go for a walk in the country (being careful to take Mr SW & the wheelchair)
4. Glass of wine
5. A meal with friends
6. Several glasses of wine
7. Watch videos of my grandson
8. Phone a friend for a laugh
9. Phone a friend for a cry.
10. Single malt – not necessarily single glassIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Wash my hair.
Moisturise my skin from top to toe.
Remember things that make me giggle so I giggle.
Ring a friend.
Polish my favourite silver earrings.
Have a cuppa (or two).
Log into AC. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Thanks for all your replies. It's interesting to read about all the different ways of cheering yourselves up. I think we all get some ''down days'' from time to time, especially at this time of the year, or if Arthur decides to become more than the usual nuisance.
It's good to know that we can post about it on here and people will understand. I think that the friendship we offer to each other on this site is a wonderful support.

PS. Tody, I hope that God forgives your spelling too0 -

My cure-all is doing my voluntary job. It's a garden nursery run for and by people with mental health issues. I enter the gates and it's like walking into a heaven on earth. Peaceful, calm, genuinely caring and loving people, work if you want it but no pressure, fun and laughter and a genuine feeling of self worth. It's my tonic and I love it!Sue (Cloud9)0

That is really lovely Cloud 9. I used to garden before R.A but it is a bit difficult nowadays and I can only last a few minutes. But I can appreciate how restful and calming it is.

I like to listen to my music, olly murs is quite a happy chappy so i play his songs.
I also like to get out on my scooter, just to the local shops, I normally see someone I know so that cheers me up.
I Ring my friends as they always make me smile and feel good.
Sitting in the conservatory and mentally rearranging the garden then giving my oh the ideas.
