'did i or didnt i take my tablets?' i thought as the pain was so awful maybe i hadnt, so took... again, i ended up feeling extremely spaced out and drunk, felt like i was slurring my words etc...

    Hi hun.
It's a tricky one with the meds. I know I've done it before. I now use my dosette strip each day, so I can be fairly sure when I have our haven't taken them, lol.
Hope the pain eases soon hun..
    Take care

'If in doubt, don't.' was the advice I received many moons ago from a doc in the hospital. I must admit I find the pain meds harder to keep track of when things are bad so I now write down the times I've taken them and keep that slip of paper in the coco's box. I hope things are easing now, continual pain is the most draining part of this whole malarkey I think. DD

    Liesa,
I'm sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable with the pain. I imagine most of us have muddled meds at some point.
Please try and get some rest. I hope you feel better soon.

cant keep my eyes open... just nodded off again.... Dr gave me some new medications Cymbalta (duloxetine) one of the side effects are is drowsiness, another tired feeling, being more careful now with them, felt silly enough about going to the hospital, i looked on the internet and it said could be fatal, hence getting checked up, my daughter did me 3 readings on blood pressure monitor and it was higher then normal readings....
just had enough of pain.... feeling a little better , yesterday was absolutely unbearable day with pain....
    im now on
    cocodamol,
    amytriptiline
    pregabalin
    Cymbalta (duloxetine)
    propanalol
and Bengay cream... its so soothing at times... this is all for my joints main pain is my knee replacement knee/leg....

what is the point of it all?

Best not done at all though. Not so much the coco bit as the paracetamol.

    Hi
Be careful with the paracetamol bit of it....its so easy to overdose on paracetamol.
I sort out tablets for the day.....no more no less.....if I think I'm likely to forget I wite them down.
I'm on naproxen slow release.....morning and night......for some reason it easy to remember the morning one but the 9pm one......very difficult so I set my alarm on my mobile for that one.
    Love

    hi leisa..
I hope you're feeling a bit better now hun..
I really know how that relentless pain can drag you down.. I haver it at the minute, sooooooo uncomfortable and just won't go... :x
You really have my sympathy hun. We're all here though..
Everyone is spot on about the paracetamol, just be careful.. I was on a hell of a lot of dihydrocodiene yrs ago and the gp was more worried about me taking too much paracetamol.

    I'm currently on..
    75mcg fentanyl (three day patch)
8 paracetamol per day but I try not to take them all
    2 diclofenac per day
    1 lanzoprazole
    3 alverine per day
    3 peppermint oil per day
    2 x 20mg certraline per day
    Can't remember the rest, lol

    Best wishes though mi dear..

    X

As l said very very occasionally. There was a thread a bit back by Tillytop as l recall about people regularly going over the recommended daily dose of paracetamol in error and the consequences. At no point did l advocate regular overdosing of anything. The rest of the paragraph not quoted by Sticky included the fact that l had taken medical advice.

    Hi Liesa,

Sorry to hear your having a bad time. I think we have all done the have I or haven't I taken that tablet! I agree when in doubt don't take it. I know it's hard when you are in pain but best to be safe.
Take care and hope you feel better soon.

    Thanks Anita
i had no idea i had taken them, i just forgot that i had... the way i felt i questioned myself then realised that i had... i felt so 'drunk' spaced out.... i tried my knitting and dropped 3 stitches...lol i was really out of it hence phoning the Dr, they suggested going to the hospital, its only 5 minutes away.... we also used my bp monitor before going and wrote it down, after half hour they were happy enough to let me go home... must admit by the time i got there i felt 'normal' kept swaying hubby kept grabbing my arm...lol
no taking more care from now on... just when that dam pain takes a hold on you theres no stopping it....

it was sad when the hospital staff 'had' to ask...'was it intentional?'
    absolutely no chance!!!!!
