Another new one for me....been woken up a couple of times now with what I can only describe as contractions in my rib cage, left hand side. These are quite painful and leave me feeling quite sore and achy as well as tired due to the disturbed sleep. Is this just another symptom of fybromyalgia or something else. x Dee x

    Hi deedee
Im not sure if its the same thing, but early last year I posted something similar, I have OA, and I started with pain in one side of my ribs, like you it was waking me up in the night.
After a couple of weeks with it I went to my GP and he said that you can get OA in the rib cage, and would you believe that it just disappeared very soon after, and touch wood it hasn't returned since.
I hope it eases up very soon xx
    Love

I see you suffer with FM i do to along with PA and RA
chest pain can be quite bad at times and yes i do get it in the ribs
sometimes its a stabbing pain that just last 30 seconds or so and some times its there for days. Doc says its probably the FM but nout they can do. Take care hope your pain gets better soon
