I'm just wondering if any of you feel "down & Blue" on methotrexate??
I've started back on them afer a break of a couple of years, only on 7.5mg a week & my rheumy won't increase at the moment because of low platelets. Now I don't know if it's just me, but last time I was on them I seem to remember feeling like this.
Don't know if its the mtx or just a combination of a bad year, 2 ops, flare up, even possibly hormones!

    Hi Lupin

I am on meth and been on it for many years but I can't say it ever caused me to have the blues. I have just started taking it again after about a 5 week break (cause of op) and no....I am not having the blues.

I think perhaps it could be that you are a little run down after your bad year.

I hope that you start to feel better soon, but if it continues I would go to your gp.

    Hi Lupin
Couldn't really say if the MTX could be the cause, have been on it for 10 years or so and can't remember how I felt before I started taking them. All I can remember was the pain before I started so already felt down!

It's a powerful drug so who can say? We all react differently to these things. Is it the meth or the fact of having arthritis? Either way I hope this mood lifts soon. DD

It's hard to know for sure. I'm on methotrexate 25mg injections too. It could be that your low mood is caused by everything that's been happening to you. Hope things improve for you soon but if they don't it would be worth discussing it with your GP.
    Good luck. Rita.

I've never had problems feeling down on meth but, on the other hand, you have arthritis. Isn't that sufficient reason to be down sometimes? I find I usually cope well with stuff but, every so often, something tiny brings me right down and I then realise I've been living on the edge for some time.
