It went well, he said there was defo something else going on other than my OA and Spondylosis, he is very sure I have Fibromyalgia but needs to rule RA and other stuff out first, so I'm having a few tests done. To be honest if I do have FM it will be a relief in someways as it explains a lot. Hope u all r as well as can be expected.

    Hi,
I'm glad you had a good appointment, sounds as if the rheummy was human as well!

I know that people say that a diagnosis is only a label and does'nt make the pain and everything go away, but I don't think thats strictlly true. When you know what you've got then you'll get the right treatment and can do things yourself to help sometimes. It also stops you worrying about all the things it could have been and isn't!
Sorry I've gone on a bit! Hope you don't feel too tired. Love Sue xxx

Thanks Sue and you haven't gone on, i know exactly what u mean. Only draw back to the visit was that I have to wear wrist splint/braces on a night, but I suppose it will be worth it if it helps control the pain during the night, only problem is my 1 year old lab goes nuts when I put them on and won't leave me alone lol. x

Hi Sandy, sounds like a positive (sounds silly saying it like that) appointment if you know what I mean..
    Best of luck with everything.

Thanks Tony, I know what u mean, he seemed genuinely interested in helping me and that makes all the difference. I have my first ortho appointment next week so fingers crossed that it goes as well.

It certainly sounds like a step in the right direction for you, sandysue, and sometimes it's easier to rule out what stuff isn't rather than what it is. I hope you are getting on OK with the splints, that they are helping and that the hound soon gets used to them! I wish you well. DD

Thanks DD, I'm not sure if splints are helping or not yet, but the pup is settling down a bit, she was the same when I first started wearing gloves in the cold weather back in December

I wonder why she becomes all agitato when she can't see your hands? I've never come across that in a hound before (but having led a life sadly lacking in hounds that's probably why!) Of course it is early days for the splints to help but what fingers can be crossed are. I hope you have a pleasant week-end. DD
