glad to be on here. this has been a great help to us as my hubby has reactive A after pneumonia in sept. He is affected in both knees and ankles. now on 3rd set pain killers due to reactions and he is very limited in mobility although better than he was! and we can't get past gp to get to see the consultant. we have asked 4 times and they just say they will look At next set of bloods for infection makers. they are all normal now bar one "stubborn" one so say that things will right themselves. I am more concerned for the longer term damage that this may be doing To his joints ( he is 39 next week). Should we ask for a second opinion via go or go private for initial consultation with consultant then hope to Get put on NHs list?
I would also. be grateful to know if anyone has had benefit from rose hip supplement and o mega 3 oil. thanks in advance for your wisdom on this.

Hi jillemma. I don't know much about reactive arthritis (Mine's R.A.) but, if you put it into the search engine at the top of the page, you'll see, on the left, a paragraph directing you to AC's own leaflet on it. Hope that helps. As for rose hip & omega 3? I guess they probably won't do any harm. Will they do any good? Who knows? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Jill
many year ago my back 'went' finally good and proper. L paid for a one off private consultation and had my surgery on the NHS.
If you can afford it l do not blame you at all.
Omega 3 oils and fish oils are good for all of us l think, not sure if they will help you husban's arthritis either :???: so sorry
Keep posting Jill l am glad you found us
love

Hi Jill,
Difficult question that.... I have gone and seen a consultant priavetly and then had treatment transferred to the NHS and it was worth it in that instance (it wasn't for the bones and it was cus of the waiting lists which were just a joke)
Like Sticky said there are a lot of posts about the reactive arthritis and I hope you will find them and get some good info. AC has some good information leaflets in the about arthritis section at the top of the page and there is always the helplines folk.
I really hope you can find an answer but for me it was are you happy with this and well I wasn't so saw someone.
The additives.... some find they help and some don;t but they wont do any harm so I would give them ago.... hey I have but they didn't do anything for me but they might him.
Glad you found the site, I hoe your oh will get some good help and nice to meet you. Cris x0 -
