Been to OT today and it was quite a productive morning which makes a change for me lol . I am getting a seat for shower,a rail in bathroom, chair for kitchen .They are also onside with getting me into a bungalow or house away from all those stairs .They just asked for permission to get any xrays to help my case with OA, I know I have had hip ones done years ago , my left hand has also started flaring up after about 5 years (forgot how painful that was) BAD OA,could it not have waited till I got my knee sorted of pain .

They will want new x-rays babytiger. But that is progress, isn't it? Things are starting to happen & I'm very pleased for you.

    Hi Babytiger

well done that sounds like a result there!!

Your hands may be flaring up because you may be using them more to support yourself while your knee heals???

    Aren't OTs lovely??

    Hi Babytiger
My experience of a shower seat was fairly brief.Supplied by OT when I had my leg in plaster (following my ankle op).It was a great boon to be able to shower again, but the problem was getting in and out of the shower with not being able to weight bear on one leg.You surprise yourself had resourceful you can be!

had phine call,I am getting them on monday ,so looking forward to having a shower again after nearly 3 months, be nice to have a seat in kitchen as well rather than standing in agony trying to peel spuds and cooking .C an't even put any weight on my leg now, within 5 minutes the pain is horrendous over my whole leg

we were moved from a two storey house to a single level ground floor flat with wet room shower plus seat and rails.. Absolute bliss.. I love sitting in a hot shower and the grab rails are great. Even with my bad hands.. I hope it helps you as much as mine helps me..

    Best of luck
