Hi everyone,
My mum came down with the Norovirus on boxing day, she was really ill with it vomiting and diarrhea. She was unwell for about a week afterwards as you would expect with something like that it can take a while to get back to normal.
The other day she told me that she still gets griping pains in her stomach from time to time. She mentioned it to her normal GP on Saturday and she said its just because of the RA she has a very low immune system and its just taking a bit longer to come out of her system thats all.
I get really worried with anything to do with her stomach as she has had cancer twice, do you think we should be worried??

Hello
If you are at all worried, I would go to A+E for myself if I was in your MUms postion, it is your health and sometimes GP are a bit complacent. He could be right, although the decision on whether to get it checked out again is ultimately your MUms.
I am not a doctor and I am merely expressing my feelings on this. I hope she gets well soon

You poor Mum!
l hope her stomch settles soon, but if no l would be tempted to go back to GP and at least ask for a p** sample test or something and tell them why you feel a bit extra anxious.
Tis perfectly reasonable to be worried

No wonder you are concerned, bpat, your poor Ma has been through the mill recently hasn't she, and given her history well, no wonder you are fretting. I honestly think her GP is the one to talk to about this, those of us on immuno-suppressant meds do take our time to recover from stuff - for example, I was bitten by summat in September 2010 and only now has the wound healed. I wish you both well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
