My update

Hello all, I have a few things I wanted to post about, so rather than fill up the forum I thought I would condense it into one post.
Firstly I wanted to tell you about my expereince of being out and about. I was in a shop that sells fruit and veg and lots of bargains I had my crutches and was trying to get items off shelf, hold crutches and not fall. Run of the mill, used to it, by now. I made my way to the front of the queue, where hubby was paying. The woman behind me very loudly, who had watched me struggle getting items off shelf, said *paz  I was stunned to hear such a word, I looked at her and was thinking of retorting, when I realised that anyone who would use such a vile word, is not a person to mess with. So meekly, (imaging knives over fruit and veg bargains ) I left the shop. It wasnt till I got to hte car, I started to laugh. Hubby was amzed I had let her get away with it, although agreed on my reasoning!!!! Am still astounded someone would use such an expression to a stranger. If it had been when I first started using 'aids' I would have been mortified and not left house for a week, I was so paranoid about it all. So, in a funny kind of way, it made me realise how far I had come.
Secondly, I had my rheumy nurse appt today. For those that remember my dismay and general unhappiness regarding my last appt, it turned out to be a rather good appt. I had a letter saying I had low vit D and was to start Ergocalciferol for 8 weeks, further bloods then calcichew or similar.
Also letter said to start Aza, he had done bloods to check ok to start. So appt today, was given the Aza 50mg, just got to wait for nurse to phone checking TPMT is ok as it has gone astray!!!! Had another just in case.
Diagnosis inflammatory arthritis, UCTD ? lupus/sjorgens, so all is ok, nothing changed despite my anxiety. Just a mention of the chronic pain that I am in which is overriding everything at the moment, thus need to start Aza.
All good so far, further bloods in 2 weeks, review with nurse in 3 weeks.
Thats my update, how are all of you?? Tell me all I have missed. Hope all is well.

Hi , Suzygirl , have to say you've made me smile . I was recently called " a big crip " by a sea front drunk . My husband approached her and said , " no you're wrong , she lost weight and is now a small crip " . Couldn't register her reaction as we were both giggling too much ! The old saying ~ you've got to laugh or you'd cry . Jillyb0

Toni. glad to hear that you are doing ok. I feel a bit 'out' of things with how everyone is, so am glad you updated me. As to dignified, well it nots often that applies to me, so thank you

Hi Suzy
I was so shocked to read your recent name calling while out shopping, some people make my skin boil. But good on you not to retaliate, some people get really on my wick by their bad judgment and ignorance. I hope you continue to get out and about when you can and not let these morons put you off.
Love n hugs

Thanks Clare and Sheila, lovely to hear from you. I wouldn't be able to tolerate things so well without the support of those who know what it is like.
Hope you are both well x0 -
Hi Suzy my lovely,
I am so proud of you for the way you handled that obnoxious woman! Well done. If I could give you a hug I would, for now I'll send these virtual ones (((((())))))
Oh Suzy, you'll think I'm so bad now  my wheelchair got a puncture today while I was out in it, I couldn't wheel myself home, so ended up having to push a rickety shack of a wheelchair while holding onto my folding walking stick...my rather snobby neighbour was looking at me struggling to get up onto the curb but didn't offer to help. I carried on and got inside finally, I was wet, cold and so sore I can't tell you how much..once in I noticed a package had been thrown over my side alley gate, (the post around here is awful) it was adressed to my snobby neighbour...upon picking it up, I noticed it was clearly broken, so I helpfully and neighbourly returned it and threw it over their hedge'grá agus solas'

Hi Suzy,
I am sorry that you had such a shocking experience, sadly there are always going to be escapees from the plant Zog, but as the old saying goes what goes around comes around. Well done you for keeping everything together and getting out of there with great dignity and self respect.
I hope you hear from your rheumy nurse soon and all goes well with the new meds.
Lv, I x
Poppy......way to go girl0 -
Poppy, so nice to hear from you. Your story did make me laugh. It is different to a stranger being rude, to a 'neighbour'. I think I would have reacted to that, how can you not help someone? Surely that is the definition of a 'neighbour' :x
I hope you have recovered (((hugs))) back to you.
Ironic, thanks for your kind words.0
