I went for my check up on my laser-ed eye only to be told that was fine, but had to have laser on the other one. I had no problems with that i knew of. They said i had a tuft which leads to a hole later on. They put laser behind it as preventable treatment. I will go back for a check up. My eyes seem fine now.
My Son has got extra help two hours every morning extra one to one now.
I have found a support group at another school to go to to meet parents who's children are on the spectrum.
I have arranged a coffee day at half term to raise funds for arthritis care. The 17th of Feb was given with half term, more people come in the library with kids. We have a over 5o group in the morning and a pantomime in the afternoon already going on at the library. We thought it would be a good day to provide refreshments and raise some money also. Hi thanks for the replies.
Up date on sister in law they warned her the benefit would go and it is now stopped. My family said she was very quiet yesterday when they went. I think she is getting the appeal thing in the post now. :x
My eyes are quite back to normal. I will go back for a check up on the other eye wk after next. My mother in law had her retina detach last July and still has more treatment to go she has had four ops already. Laser is next she had and the another to remove another bubble that has formed. She has really gone through so much pain and she still cannot see well through it.
Will tell you how i get on with coffee day. got the t shirts already.
I have left message with parent partnership just waiting for them to get back to me. The new friends i have met at the support group, go to there group doing sports. If i can get a place i will meet up with them there. son can meet others in same boat.
I have got him at a trampoline club. He has one at home. I have been told this activity is recommend by occupational therapist. He loved his first visit there. It is not too expensive either. 15 pounds for 10wk course.
THATS IT FOLKS :!:Joanne0 -
Hi Joanne

Hope you get into the parentpartnership group with your lad that would be great for both of you wouldn't it? As for the trampoline club - didn't know they had such things. Good physical activity for him l am sure - even better it teh OTs recommend it too

Hi frog Morton thanks for reply. I have got him into the adaptive sports run by parent partnership. He starts next Tues. They also have got bowling and swimming organized at half term to go to. I think we will be too busy soon . I seem to have gone from one extreme to another. I am sorted so is my son which is good as making friends is hard for him. if he is happy so am i.
I have taken son to appointment with physiologist today and he has a paediatrics appointment nkt wk. I asked the physiologist how often i got to take him there she said every two moths. I have seen the speech therapist once don't have to see her again. the occupational therapy have helped with a few things equipment exercises and no longer needs to see him. I just am unsure who else and how often he has to go to these places.

Wowee, it's all change for you isn't it? Well done to you, Joanne, for turning so many corners and finding sunshine again, it's been a struggle for you but you have come through. I hope the coffee morning is a success and that people are as generous as possible. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

My son does trampoline club too. It is good exercise and sensory and is recommended. One son has asked about horseriding so I'm looking into that for half term.We also have bowling at half term. It is good for the children to try different things and it is a welcome break for us too plus we get to meet other parents in the same position.
Glad things are going well Joanne.

Funny you should say about turning corners. I have written a piece called The journey. It has gone to the physiological mag for a competition you have to write about a journey. I bought a picture wall- tile called turning. It meant a lot as that is how my life is it is turning a corner. will have to share the story some time.
I based the journey around the tile as sort of analogy for my life journey over the last few years. They wanted 500 words so i was limited to what i could put in.
The coffee morning is on the 17th Feb at bleak house library in old bury, west midlands.Joanne0 -
