well i did a post and did press submit but its disappeared :( i will try again!!

Ive not posted for a long time but nothing much has changed regarding my erratic joint pains. After 2 yrs i have made it my mission to find out what these pains are. Gp at the time mentioned RA but i never got a referral so just took diclofenac and lived with it!! it isnt constantly there but when the joint pains are is uncomfortable and painful. I have now seen a different GP and he is questioning AS. he examined my lower back and pressed either side of the base of spine and to be quite honest i could have hit him (i didnt of course) the pain was immense!! i get a burning pain in hips like a red hot poker and again this comes and goes my back aches and i do get some stiffness. Ive had xrays and blood tests which i am waiting results. He diagnosed OA in knee because of the swelling and grinding. Are my symptoms that of AS? any advice or information would be much appreciated.

Hello lilylou, it's nice to hear from you again even if the circumstances are not that good. I don't have AS (only PsA and OA) but I can empathise with the frustration of not knowing what is going on. I have not had the experience of pain stopping only to come back, and I don't know if this is symptomatic of AS so I reckon you just have to wait for the decision from on high! Please let us know who says what, yes? I wish you well. DD

Hi, sorry you are back, but nice to meet u.

If you go on the website Dr Foster you will be able to find a specialist or consultants specialising in AC. I have done this for the consultant i am seeing tommorrow. it means a trek but i dont care if i get answers.

Has the doc looked at a combination of A.C and Fibro??

hope you get the help and support you need,
    Good Luck.xx

    Hi Lilylou

    t1230.gif back :)

So hard to say whether your symptoms fit AS, ( not being medically trained), but you sound to have an on the ball GP so it shouldn't be too long before you find out l hope.

Then they can start you on some treatment, which should help.

Glad you 're-found' us and hope you want to stay here this time :) There a re a few people on her who have AS...so could be very helpful.

    Love

    Toni xx

    Hi Lilly Lou,

Tis nice to see you again flower.

You know you do have to [press them for a referral to a rumo.... and make sure you get it this time. I think it's so wrong they haven't chased it up I really do.

I get huge tenderness down each side of my spine but I haven't got as so yours could be many things and honestly you need them to help you with further investigation and a referral.

Hang i there and please let us know if they will make sure you see a rumo. Cris x
