I work for a large Local Authority in the South of England, and was put at at risk of being made redundant so I had to go try and find another job. I've been extremely lucky in doing so and start in my new role on 20th Feb.

My new line manager has already asked what equipment they need to get in for me! Isn't it fabulous when you have that approach rather than the negative experiences so many of the forum members here seem to have? I'm so very lucky.

My new job is in the same building where I work at the moment so access, parking and everything is already in place. Saves a lot of work doesn't it?

It's such a shame I've had to do this as I really love what I currently do but I was put in a position where I had no choice. I'll really miss the team I'm working for and am dreading my last day in this post as I suspect I'll fall to bits. So - tissues at the ready please folks!

Grace

Just see it as a brand new start hun, and if it looked like you were going to lose your current job anyway this is a great result.
Best of luck, you can have my share of tissues cos I'm a bloke and I don't do that water falling from eyes business, lol..

:D Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Naturally, once I've had a week in my new role I'll let you know how I'm getting on.
Hope you're all having a reasonable day.
Here in Kent it's rainy so very, very damp and therefore Arther is having a right old go at the moment. I've got a coffee and an 'illegal' bikkie so that should help a bit!
    Take care everyone.
