As I have mentioned I'm suffering with a flare up at the moment, here's the list of effected parts of the body! lower back, both hips, both hands and wrists and now we have another part of the body who wants to join my left knee has decided to swell up to just over twice it's size! When my OH sat down after coming home from work yesterday I just started sobbing, I hadn't sobbed like that since dad died, Phil (my OH) just hugged me and tried to get out of me what was wrong. And I just said I had, had enough, I couldn't take no more, everything had just piled on top of me and happy go lucky me had been crushed. I just couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. My OH was great, he just held me and talked said that I needed to rest and that we could get through this flare-up together. I really am lucky to have my OH.
But this flare-up is the worst so far for the amount of parts effected. So going to talk to my G.P today and inform her of it, and get a major load of pain relief cause I need it!!

A flare does not only affect the body, it also affects the mind. It pulls one down emotionally, mentally and physically, and the longer it lasts the worse it all feels. There is for you, however, not only a light at the end of the tunnel but some other lights around you too so try not to lose sight of them. You have an understanding husband, you have friends who know what it is all like, you can talk to us and that usually guarantees a fairly quick reply which always helps - and you do have the meds and gadgets to help. Imagine trying to deal with all of this even just fifty years ago - the meds weren't around then, let alone the useful bits of kit around the home! It will pass soon, bubba, all things do, just grit your teeth and trog on through, you can do it and you know it 'cos you've done it before. I hope you feel better soon and keep resting, that always helps. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Dear Bubbadog I'm so sorry you're having such a horrible time. What would we do without our partners. Just remember this will pass. It may take it's ruddy time, and a lot of meds, but but it will pass! Thinking of you, Numpty.0

oh dear bubbadog, I really am sorry that you are having such a horrible time. I am so glad that you too have a lovely caring husband who held you while you had a good cry. Crying sometimes really does help.
I hope that you have a successful appointment with your gp and that you are given some meds to help relieve your pain.
Take good care and rest whenever possible
Thinking of you and sending soothing (((((((hugs))))))

Bubbadog, sorry to herar this, it does get you down sometimes. I am glad your OH is so supportive, it does help.
I had a good cry myself last night, its so frustrating when a flare hits and you just have to wait it out. At least we have the forum, where we can get support and have a laugh.
Rest up, keep warm and have a nice weekend.0 -
Hey, Guys, I wanted to thank you all for your lovely messages. This is the worst flare-up I've ever had. So my G.P wants to have catch up's regularly and I've been told me to have complete rest and take oromorph for the pain. I'm better today with the upset that has passed. It was because of the amount of area's effected. My OH is still being wonderful running about for me, going out in this horrible cold weather to get pescriptions or shopping to cheer me up (as he puts it!!). Well gonna say thanks again and you all are wonderful people and good friends. xx0
