    Hi soraya,

Nice to see you again but sorry about the cold sore. The mtx does retard healing so might well be worth running it last the gp and see if they can help with it?

I am lucky and have never had one so don;t really know what their time scale is am afraid but hopefully it will soon go.

Hey well done with the DLA though it can make a huge difference eh? hang in there and really think its best to see your gp over the cold sore thing. Cris x

Cold sores are caused by the herpes thingy (can't remember if it's a virus or not!) so please talk to your GP or maybe the pharmacist about what should be done. You may need to stop the meth for a while to help it heal. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi, you can get cold sore meds from the pharmacy, zovirax is the best I found. You may need something from the doc though, if its your first cold sore. The herpes simplex virus can make you feel rough the first time you are infected and as you are on meth, it may be worse. Maybe call NHS direct or your gp on Monday???

    Hi there!

I don't get cold sores but I get mouth ulcers, usually on my tongue. I am certain as a result of this mtx we have to take.

There are various cold sore creams etc from the chemist, the pharmacist will know whats best, they know more than the doctors on what is best I find sometimes!

Well done on getting DLA, I am waiting for my renewal news, sent off my forms after Christmas. Taking forever it seems!

Hi Soraya, made up for you getting the dla, just wanted to say I am not on mtx I am on Hydroxychloroquine and do get mouth ulcers from time to time, but at the moment I am having trouble with red sore skin at the outer corners of my mouth, anyway I am seeing the nurse practitioner at my gp's next week and hoping she can give me something or at least some advice, take care .

Zovirax is great, but if you pay for your prescriptions, Aciclvor (sp?) made by Sainsburys is far cheaper and exactly the same ingredients x
