I am 17 and have post traumatic arthritis in my left ankle. i have had 5 operations so far and i am waiting for another two. The latest is called an ankle distraction and i was wondering if anyone has had this done before and if it helps or not. My only other option is a fusion but i don't particularly want that done.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You :D

    Hi Allieg,

Welcome to the forums and glad you have found it, though not cus of the arthritis.

There are folks here who have had surgery on the ankles and hopefully they will be along soon to reassure you.

There are some who have had fusions as well so they can also let you know about those but I think they found it better after the fusing.

I hope which ever you go for it will really help you and its just not fair to have it so young... mine was also in my teens and all I do know is it does get easier and any surgery, for me, has been helpful. Nice to meet you and hope you will let us know how you getting on/ Cris x
