Oh no Del that awful..
Luckily your daughter and neighbour were on hand to help get it sorted..
I suppose its just clearing it all up and sorting things out, now the damage is done,,,
Hope things get sorted, just take care and dont be overdoing things too much..

Sorry to hear about the flood, Del, and I hope that the damage isn't too extensive. It was very lucky that your daughter was there to deal with things. The same thing happened to my son's house a couple of years ago, but he was at work when the pipe burst, so by the time he got home the whole house was swimming in water. It took months to dry out and for the damage to be repaired.

I'm glad that you had a good weekend, but it must have been a bit of a shock when you returned home to discover what had happened.

    Del that's awful.

Our neighbours' header tank burst last year in all the bad weather and their ceilings even fell in.

    Water is so destructive.

    So sorry. :(

So sorry for you and SWMBO Dell. it will be a horrible job to have to clean that up, even more so in the middle of winter, wish I could help you. I hope your insurance pay up quickly and that you can find some comfort somewhere in your house.

Oh dear Del, it sounds as though the damage will take a while to put right, but at least you will have a nice new kitchen, carpet etc at the end of it. The insurance people were very good when my son's house was flooded, and paid up without any problems, so I hope you will find them helpful too.

Oh no, oh Del I am so sorry to read this. What a blasted nuisance, I hope those who were due to arrive today have done so and that things can be expedited for you. What a rotten time of the year for this to happen, although I reckon the rotten time of year is behind this, no? :( DD (aka dammitdaisy).

You could always pitch your tent on the forum Del and go to eat in the cafe!

Seriously, hope you've got a place to go and that it all gets sorted soon, just what you need when you're off the meds

That's a lot of dosh matey... What you have to decide is will it be worth it, if so, may as well take the plunge now.

nice one Del. I really hope it's all over with sooner rather than later though rkid..
    Can't be fun.
Would the insurance not cover you renting somewhere whilst it's all being done? It's not exactly a great environment for someone with mobility problems to be living in?

It's all coming together then Del - l am pleased for you.

Hope SWMBO is feeling happier too?

We had our living room ceiling skimmed this week and l can smell the damp, so have a small small degree of understanding how it must have been :(

Shower sounds lovely and l agree with your choice of joiner....my ex FIL swears by them.

    Love
