Has anyone any knowledge / experience of an ankle joint replacement or fusion?

    Hi bighair

    There a few a few of us on the forum who have had either ankle fusion or replacement.

    I had ankle replacement surgery June last year after suffering a very painful ankle due to RA and OA.The stay in hospital was brief,in one day and home the following evening.Was in plaster for about 8 weeks and in a brace for a further 2 weeks.After this was able to fully weight bear,though for some months did use a stick when walking any distance more for stability than for support.
    The operation has improved my mobility dramatically.

    I have made a number of postings on the forum regarding my experiences.

    Are you facing the prospect of surgery?Please feel free to ask any questions.

    I had a triple fusion back in Oct 2010 and due to have other one done in April
