Our lovely Poppy went to hydro today and tweaked a rib whilst doing an exercise, so on getting home she decided to have a soak in the bath to try and help matters. Unfortunately she slipped somehow and badly cut her ankle on the bath lift. Her sons rescued her and bandaged the wound but despite resting with the ankle elevated it is very reluctant to stop bleeding. Our poor girl is rather shaken, very upset and extraordinarily tired. Her sister (who is a nurse) will be going round at about 6pm and Poppy thinks she might be needing stitiches. :( She asked me to let you all know what has happened as she is not up to posting. I have already sent her hugs and eaten a biscuit on her behalf to help her feel better! DD

    Oh no!

I hope your Sis can stem that bleeding and that all the aches and pains improve. Not surprised you are shaken!

Hello again, 'tis me posting on her behalf. Her sister has been and reckons the wound needs at least a couple of stitches but Poppy cannot face A&E tonight. Her husband is on his way home and maybe she can go tomorrow but we will wait and see. DD

I've just heard from her - she went to A&E and has had one stitch and some glue. She is back home, tired and achy so she is going to bed for a snooze. She sends thanks to all of you. DD

    Thankyou my lovely friends,
Huge big gentle hugs to you all :D
I did not have a good day yesterday, but thanks to my amazing boys I coped.
It wasn't ideal, spending my birthday in A&E, but the stitch and glue has done its job and is no longer bleeding.
Upon waking this morning though, my bed looked like the 'horses head' scene from the Godfather film :o blood everywhere, that's when I thought perhaps I should have it looked at
I'm relaxing with a cuppa and a ginormous box of malteezers from my best mate, and my youngest son Luke is in the kitchen making my birthday cake...at least I hope that's what he's doing  there's a shocking amount of mess and a lot of chocolate so fingers crossed :D
Thankyou to you all, the love and support I get from this forum is amazing, I really couldn't cope without you all. ((((((X))))))

    Hi Poppy,

I'm glad to hear that it's on the mend and your right A&E isn't where birthdays should be spent but it was the best place for the time. Mmmmmmmm maltesers n what sounds like a chocolate cake, yummy.

Just wanted to say relax and take it steady.
