Sorry to dash in and out

Hello, I have to dash off to hospital soon but could anyone tell me if they have taken someone in to an appointment with the Rheumatology nurse? My friend has offered to come as I am in a bad way and very weepy but do the nurses accept this or would it just be accepted at a consultant appointment? Thankyou and sorry to be so brief but I will come back and read up when I can.

Thankyou so much Tony. I didn't know if it would irritate the nurse as they always seem to rush me in and out but you have reassured me and I will try and be assertive this time. I have to leave now but I hope you are feeling as well as possible today.0

Mr DD comes with me whenever possible, whether it's the nurse, the consultant or treatments such as aspirations. Who gives a damn what the nurse thinks? YOU are the patient, yOU need the moral support so yes, take a friend. Let us know how you get on, yes? I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hello Star
Sorry you are struggling so much. I always take my husband in with me and it helps so much to have him with me. I used to go in on my own but he comes in to all my appointments with me now and there has never been a problem. I think taking your friend with you is a really good idea and hope the appointment goes/went well.
Thinking of you.

Always take my husband in with me , it helps loads having someone on your side to remember what's said and remind you of issues you need to mention . Jillyb0

Thank you all four! I was given a steroid injection in my backside and was told it should have good effect but may take 24 hours to kick in. Apparently it may last 6-8 weeks! The nurse saw what a state I was in and said that I couldn't be left like that. The consultant has to make the decision as to whether to start a new drug on it's own or add another (probably meth the nurse said) to the sulfa. I took my husband along in the end and everything was explained to him too. I shall take him to future appointments. I am worn out now but thanks agian to you all for replying0
