Went back to docs this morning to ask if I could have a second opinion as I wasn't happy with consultant and no one was telling me anything. She was surprised I wanted one but wouldn't recommend me BUT she is going to write to my consultant asking if I can speak personally to him and I wasnt happy with the way I was being treated.
I go back March 20th and if I do see him and he insists my knee is ok and justs needs more time then she will have a word with practise and go from there BUT really this isn't helping me....I still have a knee that won't move
I feel I am hitting brick walls all the time now and its so frustrating.
I found a blog yesterday from a lady 2007 in yorkshire, had exactly same problems as me,honestly you would think I wrote it and it finished up 1 of the components was the wrong size.

Babytiger, I don't know what part of the country you live in but I sincerely hope I never have to.

In my opinion, you have been treated badly, not just by your consultant but also by the physios who left you to cope with 3 flights of stairs immediately after a TKR and now by your GP who can't see a problem. What???

In your place I would ask for advice from PALS, the Patients Advisory and Liaison Service. If you google PALS you will be able to find your nearest branch and either phone or email them. In my experience, they are good. They will advise you but will not put you under any pressure to do anything you don't want to do.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I am so sorry that you are getting zilch help from anyone. It makes my blood boil. If I am right you had your TKR in November of last year and have had absolutely nothing but grief since then with no one caring one jot about you. I was so worried about you then and if it had been me, I would have thrown my toys out of the pram a long time ago. I must say I admire your patience but this is awful - total negligence.

I would definitely ask advice from PALS, which I believe I would have done a long time back out of sheer desperation. I cannot quite get why your gp does not understand why you do not particularly wish to liaise with this consultant as so far he has been of no help to you post op at all.Perhaps your gp is treading carefully, but that will not be helping you much. I do hope things turn around for you.

    Hi babytiger

l bet reading that blog helped you no end....seeing someone else in such a similar postion oddly can make you feel so much better.

I like the advice the others have given about PALS, but in your shoes would still go to appointment on 20th because it is now sort of 'outstanding' if you know what l mean???
