more blood tests

Aaarrrgghhh... Just been back to GP yet again and instead of being referred to rheumatology I am being sent for more blood tests. I told him I had them done 2 weeks ago and he said I wasn't tested for rheumatological stuff. And yet I had RF tested and ESR. What tests does he mean then? He told me to go for physio, lose weight. He's not bothered about the fact that I can barely use my left hand, or need a stick sometimes or can't sleep for pain. He took me off diclofenac and put me on ibuprofen instead. Basically I feel like he thinks I am a fraud.

Really fed up with this.

Aly

Hi Purple, I'm so sorry you had a bad appointment, I'm not a medical person so can't say why he changed your meds over to Iburofen all I can say on that is they never helped me when I was on them for 2 days years and years ago!! I've had to have loads of blood tests before I was refered to the Rhummey I will be seeing, they where for many things including bone density. So it could be the same sort of tests I had. I'm so sorry you feel so down about the appointment, I wish I could make you feel better, I send you a huge (((HUG))).

That makes me feel a bit better...I am cursed with impatience so hate the whole red tape thing. I didn't want to come off diclofenac...it worked for me so not sure why he took me off. He was also questioning why I was on omeprazole.

He did also say that even if it is RA that you just have to live with it and there's nothing can be done for it anyway! I thought that was a very odd thing to say, as surely the right meds make a world of difference?

For the love of God...are they having a laugh at this practice??? When the Gp told me I had to go for more blood tests he asked which hospital I wanted to go to. I said hospital x. I asked him for the paperwork and he said that it's all done online, and I explained that last week I had them done I needed paperwork. He said no, it would be on the system when I went to hospital.

Then as I was leaving he mentioned hospital y...I didnlt really think about it until just now and I rang up...he has requested the bloods online ok, but the hospital he has booked me in for needs paperwork, just as I told him. I could have gone to this hospital today if they had given me said paperwork but now I have to go back in the morning to pick it up. And they expect us to trust them with our health???
